If a custom profile attribute is no longer needed, you can discard it from your community. Discarding removes the attribute from the platform so it can no longer be used in chats or distribution filters or sa.
From the app header or central navigation, click on the Participants / Community tab.
In the left-hand navigation, click on the Attributes tab.
Go to the Custom Attributes tab to view the list of existing custom profile attributes.
Locate the attribute you want to discard. You can scroll through the list or use the search bar to find it quickly.
Click the More Actions (⋮) icon next to the attribute name and select Discard attribute.
A confirmation dialog will appear asking you to confirm the action. Review the message carefully before proceeding.
Click Discard to confirm.
The attribute will be permanently removed from your community and will no longer appear in the list or be available for use in chats, filters, or exports.⚠️ Note: Discarding a profile attribute is permanent. All data linked to this attribute will no longer be available in participant profiles or exports. Consider exporting your participant data first if you need to retain a record of responses.
