Rival's responding experience gives you full creative control over how your chat looks and feels for participants. You can choose between the Classic theme and the all-new Glass theme, and fine-tune every visual detail.
1. Accessing Chat Settings
Go to the Settings tab on the Rival platform.
In the left navigation, select Brand.
In the Chat settings section, locate the Theme selector at the top of the page. Click Glass to activate the new translucent theme, or select Classic for the standard look.
The mobile preview panel on the right will update instantly to show your selection. Use the 'Preview on Desktop' link at any time to see a full screen preview of your design on a desktop device.
2. Customize the header
In the Title and Caption sections, you can toggle each element on or off and set a custom colour for each. The caption supports up to 100 characters and is a great place to add a short welcome message or your brand tagline.
3. Upload and configure your brand assets
Logo: Click Edit to upload your brand logo. You can control the container height, aspect ratio (Square or Landscape), Image container corner radius, and Zoom to position them precisely.
Avatar: Upload the icon you want to show as your chat agent's avatar, it appears beside their messages in the conversation.
Favicon: Upload the icon shown in the browser tab.
4. Set your colours and font
Chose a color to set the chat stage background.
Select your primary and contrast colours. Primary colour is applied to text bubbles, buttons, and various interface components. Contrast colour is for the text, to ensure text remains clear and readable when placed over the primary colour.

6. Set your wallpaper
You can set separate wallpapers for desktop and mobile to ensure your chat looks great on every device.
For each, choose to either:
• Upload an image: recommended dimensions are 1920 × 1080 px, max file size 5 MB
• Use a background colour: pick a solid colour to keep things simple
Default Rival-themed wallpapers are provided out of the box if you don't have a custom image ready.
7. Preview and apply your changes
Use the mobile preview panel on the right side of the page throughout your session to check how your design looks in real time. When you are satisfied with your design, click Apply Changes in the top-right corner. You can select the locales to apply the new branding to. Once you confirm the dialog to publish your new branding, it will apply immediately to all chats associated with the selected profiles.
