The Imports functionality lets you add or update values for existing profile attributes.
You can use Imports when you need to:
Update the current value of a profile attribute.
Add new values to an existing profile attribute.
Make changes to attribute values for multiple profile attributes at once.
To import attribute data, you can navigate to the Community tab and click on imports.
Go to Actions > select Import attribute data
This should open the import attribute data settings pop up. Enter the import details here.
Click on Download Sample to download an example CSV file. Use the sample as a guide when preparing your import file.
In the import file, make sure:
Each column header matches the name of the corresponding profile attribute.
The values in each column match the values expected by that profile attribute.
The file does not contain images or unsupported characters.
Note: The system will process a maximum of 10,000 rows of CSV data per file
To upload the import file, click on 'Select CSV File' button and choose your file.
Depending on the type of values in the import file, select the value type - text values or code values. And then select action to be taken for empty cells present in the uploaded file.
Once done, click on 'Import Data'.
You can monitor the import from the Imports page.
Once the import is complete, the status gets updated to completed.
After the import is complete, download the import report to review the results in more detail.
The report shows:
The import status for each row.
Whether each row was imported successfully.
A reason when a row value could not be imported.
You can use the information in the report to correct unsuccessful rows before importing the corrected data again.
Along with custom attributes, you can also import the 'Email Address' value for a participant.
