Overview
Piping allows you to insert a respondent's previous answer/any variable into a question. This helps create a more personalized survey experience by displaying information collected earlier in the survey.
To add a pipe value to a question:
Go to the question where you want to insert the pipe value.
Click Insert Pipe.
3. Select the question or variable type you want to pipe the value from. You can choose from a previous question, an input variable that is being passed, a hidden variable or even profile attribute value.
4. Choose the specific variable or response value you want to insert. and click on 'Save'
Important Note:
Pipe values cannot be used from grid questions.
If the selected pipe value is blank, the question containing that pipe value will be skipped for the respondent.
If the section containing the source question is randomized, responses from questions in that section cannot be used as pipe values.
