Rival Platform Password Policy

We care deeply about keeping your account and data secure. Here’s what you need to know when setting or updating your password.

If you are using Single Sign-On (SSO), please refer to your SSO provider for login requirements.
Password and MFA rules do not apply for SSO logins.


Password Rules

  • Minimum 12 characters

  • Must include:

    • 1 uppercase letter

    • 1 lowercase letter

    • 1 number

    • 1 special character (like ! @ # $ %)


Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

  • MFA is required for all Rival Platform users who log in with email and password (non-SSO).

  • The platform uses Software Token MFA (TOTP) — you’ll use an authenticator app such as:

    • Google Authenticator

    • Microsoft Authenticator

    • Authy

  • During your first login, you’ll be prompted to scan a QR code with your authenticator app.

  • On subsequent logins, you’ll enter the one-time code from your app in addition to your password.


Password Updates

  • Passwords do not automatically expire, but we recommend updating them at least once every 12 months.

  • After a password reset, a temporary password expires after 7 days if unused.


Forgot Your Password or MFA?

  • Click “Forgot Password” on the login page to reset your password via your registered email.

  • If you encounter MFA issues or can’t access your account, please email support@rivaltech.com for assistance.


Session Timeout

For security and compliance, all user sessions automatically expire after 12 hours.
You’ll be logged out and required to sign in again with your credentials and MFA.
